COURSE DESCRIPTION
This course is an introduction to the visual arts. Students will primarily work on developing their artistic skills by using the Elements of Art (line, texture, shape, form, value, color, space). Students will also explore the Principles of Design (contrast, emphasis, balance, movement, pattern, rhythm, unity) in relation to the Elements of Art. The purpose of Intro to Art is to educate students on the basic art techniques, increase understanding and appreciation of art, and introduce students to other areas of art for further study in other courses.
